needle & thREAD - June 28, 2012

needle and thREAD

I know I haven't participated in needle and thREAD for quite a while, but now that it's summer my reading time has increased. More time spent in outside play for the girls means more reading time for the Mama!

Right now I'm reading Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter. I'm not a huge fan of vampire literature - for instance I didn't read one.single.book in the Twighlight series - but this book seemed to have the right blend of historical fiction and fantasy to draw me in. It's also notable to mention that I bought this book new, which is another very rare event for me. I more often buy my books used from thrift stores, used book stores, or garage sales.

My sewing this week is some more Wee Mice. These two are destined for a customer and I have one more yet begun for that custom order. I love sewing these little mice and hand sewing is such a relaxing process for me. I can sit and sew while the girls play or turn on a movie or music and listen to it in the background while I sew.

  1. I love felt critters! Just really sweet!

I don't know if that book is up my alley! I do hope you enjoy it, though!

  2. Your mice are so cute!!

I saw a preview for that movie last week ~ I totally stay away from vampires and thrillers and such, but this one is almost intriguing.... mostly, I guess I want to know what in the world Abe has to do with vampires ;-)

Moo said the mama reserves the right to remove any comment that we deem snarky, malicious, spammy or otherwise inappropriate. We have thick skin here in Mootown but want this blog to be a pleasant destination for all ages.

I also wanted to let you know that I read each and every comment that comes in! I want to reply to them all, too - but alas, life interferes. Please don't be offended if I didn't have the time to personally reply to a comment you left.

About Me

My Photo
A 40 something mama meandering through life with an eclectic 21 year old boy-man (the boy), an 8 year old girl (big girl) who is a ball of lightening, and a 4 year old girl (baby girl) who brightens our lives with her smiles. I'm grounded by my 40 something husband and partner (the hubster) whose quirky mannerisms brighten my days.

I've been a single mama, married mama, divorced mama, career mama, SAHM, and WAHM. There was a short time of my life when I wasn't a mama, but that was a LONG time ago!

I hold an AA, BS, and MA and most say I'm wasting them by devoting my intellectual capabilities and energy in the nurture of the wee ones that I've been entrusted to raise, but there is nothing else I'd rather be doing these days. :)

I love hearing from readers, so please share your thoughts and leave comments, too!
